Alisher Navoiy – a historical symbol of Uzbek diplomacy (Xalqaro Munosabatlar (6 / 2025 №112))

Abstract:

The article consists of three parts, comprising the Introduction, information illuminating the diplomacy carried out during the empire of Amir Temur and the Baburid dynasty, as well as the diplomatic aspects of Alisher Navoi's political activities during the reign of Husayn Bayqara. When referring to sources to get acquainted with the history of Uzbek diplomacy, two authoritative books published during the years of independence can mainly be encountered: "From the History of Uzbek Diplomacy (Historical Sketches and Snapshots)", published in 2003 under the general editorship of Academician M. Khayrullaev in collaboration with the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and the Institute of Oriental Studies named after Abu Rayhan Biruni, and the 6-volume book "History of Diplomacy of Uzbekistan (From Ancient Times to the Present Day)", published in 2019 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. Both publications cover the history of diplomacy pursued by ancestors from the distant past to the present day. In particular, the diplomacy of the great Amir Temur era is described comprehensively and in detail. In addition, noteworthy information regarding diplomacy in the Baburid Empire is presented.
