The Phenomenon of New Uzbek Diplomacy (International Affairs (6 / 2025 №112))

Abstract:

The article analyzes the fundamental geopolitical transformations that have taken place in Central Asia in recent years, highlighting the conceptual foundations and pragmatic outcomes of the new foreign policy framework—the "Mirziyoyev Doctrine". The author demonstrates how proactive regional diplomacy, political will, and open dialogue transformed Central Asia from a zone of potential conflict and border disputes into a space of strategic partnership, mutual trust, and cohesion embodied in the "Spirit of Central Asia". The study examines the core principles of New Uzbekistan's diplomacy—pragmatism, multi-vector orientation, and initiative-driven engagement—emphasizing the integration of Afghanistan into Eurasian connectivity and the rising global subjectivity of the region.
